Medical Disclaimer
What the medical content on this website can and cannot do for you.

General information only
The condition pages, articles and answers on this website are written to help you understand neurological symptoms and prepare for a consultation. They are general information. They are not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for being examined by a doctor who knows your history.
Why a website cannot diagnose you
Neurological conditions share symptoms. A tremor may be Parkinson’s disease or essential tremor or a side effect of a medicine. Dizziness may come from the inner ear or from the brain. A seizure does not always mean epilepsy. Telling these apart depends on the pattern of your symptoms, a clinical examination, and sometimes tests — none of which a web page can do.
Do not delay care because of something you read here
If you have a symptom that worries you, have it assessed. Do not stop, start or change any medication on the basis of this website. In particular, antiseizure medicines and medicines for Parkinson’s disease should never be stopped suddenly or altered without medical supervision.
Seek urgent medical care for these symptoms
The following need immediate assessment. Go to the nearest hospital emergency department or call your local emergency number — do not wait for a routine appointment.
- Sudden severe headache
- Sudden weakness of the face, arm or leg
- Difficulty speaking or understanding speech
- Drooping on one side of the face
- Sudden loss of vision, severe imbalance or difficulty walking
- Sudden confusion or loss of awareness
- A first-ever seizure, or a seizure lasting more than five minutes
No outcomes are promised
This website makes no claim about results. Some conditions described here have no cure — dementia and Parkinson’s disease among them — and the pages covering them say so plainly. Where treatment is described, it is described as what is offered and reviewed, not as a promised outcome. Any website or clinic promising a guaranteed cure or result should be treated with caution.
Treatments mentioned
Where a specific treatment is named, it is named because it is part of standard management for that condition. Whether it is appropriate for you depends on your diagnosis, your other conditions and the medicines you already take. That decision is made in a consultation, not from a website.
